Established in 1916, Avtodiesel (Yaroslavl Diesel Engine Plant) specializes in developing and producing diesel engines and power trains for a wide variety of applications. The Yaroslavl plant has supplied more than 4 million engines to the international and domestic markets.
 | Avtodiesel was looking to support effective engineering process of the new Euro-4 class engine. The desired solution was required to manage engineering changes, options and configurations. The plant also needed to manage heterogeneous CAD data: AutoCAD and Creo Elements/Pro.

| Working with Pro TECHNOLOGIES, an authorized PTC Reseller, Avtodiesel implemented Windchill PDMLink and Windchill Workgroup Manager for AutoCAD across the plant within 100 days only. Windchill was adopted to manage Creo Elements/Pro data, facilitate project management and improve collaboration, allowing to reduce the development cycle and the number of changes, and to increase engine quality.

“When we started this project at the end of July 2008 we had very ambitious plans to implement PDM system - Windchill PDMLink, and move it to the operation level within 4 months. In the past we considered such task as the other enterprises that came from Soviet age are generally performed with drawing-boards and collections of different MCAD systems. Therefore, at the beginning of this project, the timeframe of 4 months seemed to be not realistic. However, all activities were completed on time, i.e., on 21st October 2008.”
